ASME Spring 26 Opening & Iftar

🌙 Iftar Opening Event Plan

Purpose:
• Introduce the club’s vision
• Present the Upper Board
• Attract new members
• Create a warm, welcoming Ramadan vibe
• Make it FUN and memorable


Suggested Event Timeline
1. استقبال + Ramadan Vibes (45–60 mins before Maghrib)
• Light background nasheeds
• Small welcome cards with the club’s vision printed on them. / Or we can have a board written on it a question for engagement.
Idea: Have a small “Why did you join?” sticky-note wall.

2. Iftar (Maghrib)
• Dates + water ready
• Organized food distribution (pre-packed boxes)
• Make sure seating is comfortable and not chaotic
Keep this calm and simple.

3. Official Opening (After Iftar – 20–30 mins)
Keep speeches SHORT. No one wants long talks after eating.
1️ President Speech
Include:
• Vision for the year
• What makes this club different
• What members will gain
• Energy + confidence

2️ Upper Board Introductions
Each member:
• Name
• Position
• One fun fact
• Why they joined
⚠️ Keep it fun and fast-paced.
even add:
• 1 slide per board member
• Or 1 fun question they all answer

3️ Club Overview
Simple slides:
• What we do
• Upcoming events
• Committees
Make it VISUAL.

4. Fun Games Section (45–60 mins)
friendly interactive games:
🎯 Game 1: “Guess the Board Member”
• Show 3 facts
• Audience guesses who it is
Prize: chocolate box / gift card

Game 2: Kahoot (Fast & Easy)
Categories:
• Ramadan trivia
• Club-related questions
• Fun university questions
Top 3-win prizes.

Game 3: “Minute to Win It” Challenges
• Stack cups
• Balance dates
• Speed puzzle
High energy = good bonding.

Game 4: “Find Your Team”
Give people cards at the door. After iftar, they must find people with matching symbols.
Winner team gets prize.
