Island Stories: Hana w Surur in Rawda and Manial

The Rare Books and Special Collections Library, in collaboration with Khazana Heritage School, is organizing an exhibition, Island Stories: Hana w Surur in Rawda and Manial, one of the training workshops under the Hana and Surur program that is concerned with entertainment heritage.

The exhibition includes creative projects based on the stories of the people of the place, in addition to different maps of gardens, parks and other entertainment topics in the area.

Hana and Surur Workshop: The closing event is the result of six months of the workshop, during which the participants documented stories and entertainment-related places in Manial, past and present. The participants then reformulated the stories into a set of creative projects.

Projects include: 

• Short documentary film.
• Exhibition of photographs of entertainment venues with accompanying sounds.
• Maps of entertainment places and parks in Manial, past and present.
• Fiction books and booklets about entertainment, artists and Manial Gardens.
