As part of the Bayard Dodge Distinguished Visiting Professorship series, join us for the first lecture by Professor Konrad Hirschler, Professor of Middle Eastern History at the University of Hamburg and a leading scholar at the Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures. In this talk, Professor Hirschler offers a critical reflection on current approaches to manuscript studies, with a particular focus on the materiality of texts in the premodern Middle East.
