Ronja Schiffer
Ronja Schiffer is currently the representative of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) in Egypt, a role she has held since July 2023. Her work combines political analysis, gender studies, and participatory policy development. Her academic expertise is in Middle Eastern international relations, with a master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh, where she graduated with distinction, specializing in women's empowerment in Jordan. Ronja also has extensive experience in climate and energy policy, having served as program manager at FES’s regional climate and energy project in Jordan. Her publications address key issues in the MENA region, including youth perspectives on sustainable energy and climate transitions.

Amr Hamzawy
Amr Hamzawy is a senior fellow and the director of the Middle East Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. His research and writings focus on governance in the Middle East and North Africa, social vulnerability, and the different roles of governments and civil societies in the region. He was previously an associate professor of political science at Cairo University and a public policy professor of the practice at the American University in Cairo.
