It's popular, it's cool, it's so, well, positive! But, it's also the most misunderstood branch of psychology that exists today. So, let's chat. In this talk, we explore what positive psychology is, its main intent, who are its target populations, how it differs from mainstream psychology, and contexts in which it is currently used. We also follow the development of the field as a whole and explore Positive Psychology 1.0 all the way to its most recent iteration, PP3.0 understanding where it has been, why it came back, and where it's now headed. Phew! It's all about science, WEIRD people, systems and contexts, and yes, a few smiles along the way.
