Tamino .

Tamino, a name inspired by the character of Prince Tamino from Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, is the grandson of the renowned Egyptian singer Muharram Fouad. As a teenager, Tamino discovered a rare resonator guitar in his late grandfather's attic, which sparked his interest in music. He now plays the guitar alongside the oud, using these dual instruments to connect with his cultural heritage and express his emotions. Through his music, Tamino seeks to understand and articulate his present emotional state. He plays the oud that links him to his cultural past which he also uses to understand and express his emotional present while honoring his artistic past.

Sahar is the name of Tamino's new album, which was created in his Antwerp apartment and features collaborations with Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood, producer/engineer PJ Maertens, and drummer Ruben Vanhoutte. As a sophomore effort, "Sahar" is a powerful blend of Arabic folk, experimental indie rock, and sweeping orchestral arrangements. It beautifully merges the romanticism and tragedy of Jeff Buckley with a cosmopolitan, universalist aesthetic sensibility, effortlessly encompassing European, American, and Middle Eastern influences.
