Why is quantum mechanics hard to understand? Which are the usual epistemic standards that quantum mechanics seems to break? Where do these epistemic standards come from in the first place? We want to argue that quantum mechanics can be indeed understood (to a certain extent at least) if one is willing to adhere to a particular “interpretation” of it. We first develop an epistemic framework that is supposed to be independent from any specific physical theory. Then, we evaluate a set of quantum interpretations with respect to these criteria.
