Theater Performance: Egypt's Formidable Women from the Eighteenth Dynasty to the Eighteenth Century
Monodrama by Samira Kirollos

Four monodramas from different periods of Egyptian history performed with changes of costume and minimalist settings and props present the lives of four impressive Egyptian women who come personally "from the other side" to share their life's trajectory with you as they see it.
  • King Hatshepsut: Born to rule underlines the four key moments in her life that, after a 22-year reign of power, helped her make Egypt richer than it had ever been.
  • Cleopatra Vll: Tells her life story as frankly as she can, warts and all, from her roots as a Ptolemy to her strategic relationships with Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony, which were instrumental in her defense of the Egypt she loved until her death as Egypt's Last Pharaoh.
  • Princess Hilaria: Born the daughter of the Roman Emperor Zeno of Constantinople, she cross-dresses and escapes to a monastery in Wadi Natrun to spend a short life of devotion and miracles disguised as a monk.
  • Laila and the Sultan: The pretty, intelligent, witty, astute Laila, daughter of a humble bean merchant, defies the Sultan, who falls in love with her and eventually marries her.
