Reporting History: The War in Yemen
Registration
Details
In March 2015, a Saudi-led coalition launched operation Decisive Storm in support of Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi, whose government was on the verge of being completely overrun by the Houthis. This intervention started a new phase in a war, which is still ongoing and has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and led to one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
Our guests in this new episode of Reporting History played a crucial role in documenting the war. Mohammed Al-Qadhi reported for Sky News Arabia and other media outlets from various locations inside the country, including besieged Taiz, where he spent several years. Maggie Michael ’00 won the Pulitzer Prize in 2019 for her investigations into the effects of the devastating war in Yemen.
