Mark your calendars for AUC's upcoming theatre production
YOU W-ANA TOO: an original, site specific, outdoor play addressing sexual assault
The plays have been cast...The directors assigned...And the playwrights are busy researching and writing the scripts!
5 new short plays will be performed at 5 outdoor campus locations with small audience groups walking from play to play, led by a student guide.
Join us in late March:
The play is 90 minutes long.
New Cairo campus, Center for the Arts courtyard: March 22 at 5:00pm - 6:30pm, March 23 at 1:00pm - 2:30pm and 5:00pm - 6:30pm ,and March 24 at 5:00pm - 6:30pm.
Tahrir campus garden: March 30 and March 31 at 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
YOU, W-ANA TOO, an outdoor, site specific play about sexual harassment, involves over 50 AUC students and alumni working as directors, playwrights, actors, designers and managers. It examines the issues of sexual harassment and assault in Egypt and shares multiple stories and perspectives. From a young couple grappling with the definition of assault, to a family reckoning with the aftermath, these original 5 plays hope to advance the dialogue and get us all to think more critically about this issue.
