Join us for a lecture by Wen-chin Ouyang, professor of Arabic literature and comparative literature at SOAS, University of London, on animals and insects in Arabic literature.

The lecture invites audiences to rethink the place and role of animals and insects beyond European anthropocentrism, including in today’s environmental humanities and ecocriticism. By exploring animals, insects, interspecies encounters and transmogrification in Arabic literature, it opens alternative ways of understanding the human place and role in the world.
