The Prince Alwaleed Center for American Studies and Research (CASAR), the holder of the project Heritage.AI at The American University in Cairo (AUC), is pleased to invite you to attend the first Heritage.AI Seminar Series titled "AI and Cultural Heritage: Promise, Hype and Reality."

During the two-hour seminar, we will bring together leading experts and practitioners to discuss the opportunities, challenges and realities of applying artificial intelligence in cultural heritage. The seminar will explore, in particular, what artificial intelligence can actually do for museums, archaeological sites and cultural heritage institutions, while critically examining the gap between technological promise and practical implementation.

Panelists:

  • Fekri Hassan, Director of the Cultural Heritage Management Program
  • Tarek Tawfik, Professor of Egyptology
  • Khalil El Khodary, Professor of Mechanical Engineering
  • Ziad Morsy, Assistant Professor of Maritime Archaeology
  • Sherif El Dawlaty, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering

Moderator:
Yasser El Shayeb, Professor of Risk Management and Heritage Studies

We would be honored by your presence and participation in what we hope will be an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on the future of artificial intelligence and cultural heritage.

We, the team of the Heritage.AI project, look forward to welcoming you at the Oriental Hall of the AUC Tahrir Square. For smooth access to the venue and the seminar, please RSVP using the following link: https://forms.gle/pm2qnp9NtLUeULX58
