Campus Sustainability Month 2026

To celebrate Campus Sustainability Month at AUC throughout October, the Office of Sustainability is hosting a series of events engaging AUC community members. Events will take place as follows:

1. Waste Management

• Raising awareness: Displaying compacted waste pallets at the event booth on Bartlett Plaza, including cans, plastic bottles and shredded paper, to demonstrate the volume of waste generated and the potential for recovery.

• Promoting proper waste segregation: Displaying one waste-sorting station, including the three bins for cans, plastic and general waste.

• Planting tutorial: Having a member of the Landscape Team conduct a short planting demonstration at the event booth, showcasing the use of coffee grounds as compost. Participants will be able to take their plants with them.

2. World Food Day

• Raising awareness through trivia questions and activities.

• Offering discounts on healthy food options at food outlets.

• Offering discounts on coffee for those who bring their reusable mugs, in collaboration with outlets.

3. Saving Energy

• Raising awareness through trivia questions and activities.
