Artozium | A Title Resembling an Unstable Image Exhibition

Presented as part of the first Summer Arts Festival at the American University in Cairo, the exhibition brings together emerging talents working across sculpture, installation, painting, textiles, video, and digital image-making. Curated by Ahmed Shawky Hassan, the exhibition approaches the city as a living structure that continuously reshapes bodies, memory, and everyday relations. 

Developed through research-based and documentary approaches, the works examine how political, social, and economic transformations become embedded within intimate objects and shared urban spaces. Mirrors, garments, fences, dolls, and urban infrastructure emerge as material witnesses to systems that regulate movement, visibility, belonging, and access. 

Shifting between personal memory, violence, displacement, and adaptation, the works remain attentive to what lingers within bodies and places, presenting the city as an unstable image that continuously resists settling into fixed form.
