The Center for Migration and Refugee Studies (CMRS) at The American University in Cairo (AUC) invites you to an engaging lecture: "Advancing EU-MENA Collaborations on Skills and Mobility in a Changing World of Work". Professor Tesseltje de Lange will deliver a talk on the evolving landscape of cooperation between the European Union (EU) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including Egypt, in the field of skills development. In this lecture, Professor de Lange will examine existing collaborative initiatives, highlight successful examples of joint efforts, and reflect on notable gaps where cooperation remains limited—particularly in light of the rapidly changing world of work. As a professor of European migration law, she will provide an expert analysis of EU policies that can strengthen mutually beneficial skills programs, mobility and migration pathways, and talent- and skills-focused partnerships. Her talk will also address the EU visa strategy and discuss the implications of the newly adopted EU Talent Pool Regulation.
This session promises valuable insights for academics working on migration, mobility, labor markets, and skills-related topics, as well as policymakers, practitioners, and all those interested in the future of international talent mobility and skills cooperation.
