Have you heard of endometriosis before? Endometriosis affects an estimated 10% (roughly 190 million) of women and girls of reproductive age worldwide. This chronic, often painful condition affects individuals across all socioeconomic backgrounds. It is a major cause of infertility and severe pelvic pain, significantly impacting the quality of life for millions of women.
How do you think adding Egypt to the discussion will differ, given the taboos of speaking about menstrual disorders in our society?
Come and watch this heartfelt short film, followed by a Q&A session with the director, Malak Elsayyad, moderated by Yasmeen El-Ghazaly, assistant to director and adjunct faculty at the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Center for American Studies and Research.
This event is proudly sponsored by the Cynthia Nelson Institute for Gender and Women's Studies at The American University in Cairo.
Light refreshments will be served.
