Documenting Palestine: Land and People
This exhibition marks the 25th anniversary of the Palestine Land Society (PLS). Founded in London in 2000, PLS has spent a quarter-century at the forefront of historical preservation, dedicated to the meticulous documentation of Palestine’s land and its people.
A Quarter-Century of Scholarly Excellence
The Palestine Land Society is world-renowned for its academic rigor and cartographic precision. Their body of work serves as a definitive record of Palestinian history, including:
-
The Atlas of Palestine (1917–1966): A 700-page volume published in Arabic, English, Spanish, and Russian.
-
The Atlas of Palestine (1871–1877): A critical historical record documenting the landscape prior to the establishment of the first colonies.
-
Over one million copies of Palestinian wall maps (70x100cm) have been printed and distributed globally in various formats.
-
With over 500 articles, numerous books, and frequent participation in international conferences, PLS is a primary resource for researchers worldwide.
-
PLS is accredited to the UN-Palestine Committee and maintains active working relationships with leading global institutions and universities.
