Join us as we discover how the U.S. used jazz as a tool of cultural diplomacy during the Cold War, sending jazz musicians abroad to promote American values and counter Soviet influence. Jazz symbolized freedom and democracy but also highlighted racial tensions in the U.S., creating a paradox. These tours influenced global perceptions of America and supported civil rights movements at home and abroad.
