What Time Is It Now?

Join Steffen Stelzer, professor of Philosophy at AUC, as he reflects on his lifelong journey as both a student and teacher of philosophy. Once wildly popular among young people, philosophy has since faced a steady decline in interest, particularly within universities where its relevance is often questioned.

Are we experiencing just another hour of philosophical questioning or has the time of philosophizing itself passed? If the latter is true, to propose a masterclass in philosophy would be futile because the fire that gave life to philosophy as beginning in wonder would itself be extinguished. Despite such a possibility, Professor Stelzer posits that the moment for ‘astonishment’ may not have entirely passed.
