هيثم نوار هو أستاذ مشارك بقسم التصميم، وكان سابقًا رئيس قسم الفنون في الجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، ومؤسس ومدير مهرجان "كايروترونيكا" للفنون الإلكترونية وفنون الوسائط الجديدة في القاهرة. هو فنان ومصمم وباحث حاصل على منحة فولبرايت، وقد عُرضت أعماله في العديد من المعارض المحلية والدولية. تشمل اهتماماته البحثية تاريخ وممارسات التصميم، مع تركيز خاص على العالم العربي وأفريقيا

Haytham Nawar is associate professor of design and formerly chair of the department of the arts at the American University in Cairo, and the founder and artistic director of Cairotronica, a festival of electronic and new media arts in Cairo. An artist, designer, and Fulbright scholar, his work has been shown at many local and international exhibitions. His research interests include design history and practices with a focus on the Arab world and Africa.

هدى سميتسهوزن أبي فارس هي المديرالمؤسس لمؤسسة "خط" ودار نشر "خط بوكس" ف أمستردام. تعمل كمنسقة معارض مستقلة في مجال التصميم، وباحثة، وكاتبة، ومصممة، وناشرة. تحمل درجات علمية في التصميم الجرافيكي وتاريخ التصميم من جامعة لايدن (دكتوراه، ٢٠١٧)، وجامعة ييل (ماجستير فنون جميلة، ١٩٩٠)، ومدرسة رود آيلاند للتصميم (بكالوريوس فنون جميلة، ١٩٨٧. تتخصص الدكتورة أبي فارس في أبحاث التصميم الطباعي وتاريخ التصميم العربي، وهي مؤلفة لعدد من الكتب المرجعية الهامة في هذا المجال. كما أنها رئيسة تحرير سلسلة "مكتبة التصميم العربي" الصادرة عن دار نشر"خط بوكس" ، وقد ألّفت كتابين ضمن هذه السلسلة.

Huda Smitshuijzen AbiFarès is the Founding Director of the Khatt Foundation and Khatt Books publishers in Amsterdam. She works as an independent design curator, researcher, writer, designer, and publisher. She holds degrees in graphic design and design history from Leiden University (PhD, 2017), Yale University (MFA, 1990), and Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, 1987). Dr Smitshuijzen AbiFarès specialises in typographic design research and Arab design history. She is the author of several seminal books on the topic. She is editor in chief of Khatt Books’ Arabic Design Library series, and authored two books in this series.

ياسمين نشّابة طعّان أستاذة في تاريخ الفن والتصميم ومديرة "معهد الفن في العالم العربي" في الجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية. تشغل عضوية المجلس الاستشاري لمجلة Design and Culture، كما أنها عضو في مجلس أمناء جمعية تاريخ التصميم في لندن، ومؤسسة خط في أمستردام. حصلت الدكتورة طعّان على عدة منح بحثية، وألفت أكثر من أربعة كتب تستكشف تاريخ الفن والتصميم والتصوير الفوتوغرافي في المنطقة العربية. وإلى جانب عملها الأكاديمي، قامت بتنظيم عدد من المعارض التي تسلط الضوء على الثقافات البصرية في المنطقة والسرديات المهمّشة.

Yasmine Nachabe Taan is Professor of Art and Design History and Director of the Institute of Art in the Arab World at the Lebanese American University. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Design and Culture journal, and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Design History Society (London) and the KHATT Foundation (Amsterdam). Dr. Taan received multiple research grants and authored over four books exploring the histories of art, design, and photography in the Arab region. In addition to her scholarly work, she has curated a number of exhibitions that highlight regional visual cultures and underrepresented narratives.

Mahmoud (Moe) Elhossieny

محمود (مو) الحُسيني هو مصمّم وباحث وكاتب يقيم بين القاهرة والدار البيضاء. حصل الحُسيني على درجة الماجستير في تصميم الاتصال الجرافيكي من سنترال سانت مارتينز في لندن، المملكة المتحدة، عام ٢٠١٨. يمتلك خبرة تمتد لأكثر من عقد في مجال الإعلانات والاتصال الجرافيكي، وقد نال تقديراً واسعاً وحصل على العديد من الجوائز عن أعماله. في السنوات الأخيرة، كرّس محمود ممارسته المهنية للدعوة إلى فهم أعمق لتاريخ التصميم الجرافيكي العربي والتفاعل معه. وفي عام ٢٠٢٠، أسّس "مستودع التصميم"، وهي منصة مخصصة للتصميم والبحث والنشر. وقد أدّى هذا المشروع مباشرةً إلى إنشاء" أرشيف التصميم العربي"، الذي يُعترف به اليوم دوليًا كأكبر مصدر مكرّس لتوثيق التصميم والثقافة البصرية العربية.

Mahmoud (Moe) Elhossieny is a designer, researcher, and writer based between Cairo and Casablanca. Elhossieny received his MA degree in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, London, UK, in 2018. He has over a decade of experience working in communication and has garnered recognition and received multiple awards for his work. In recent years, Mahmoud has devoted his practice to advocating for a deeper understanding and engagement with the history of Arabic graphic design. In 2020, he established the Design Repository, a design, research, and publishing platform. This initiative led directly to the creation of the Arabic Design Archive, now recognized internationally as the most extensive resource dedicated to Arab design and visual culture.

Sayed Mahmoud

سيد محمود هو صحفي مصري مرموق متخصص في تغطية الشؤون الثقافية. يعمل الآن مديرًا لتحرير مجلة الأهرام العربي. شغل عدة مناصب صحافية قيادية آخرها رئيس تحرير جريدة القاهرة التي تصدرها وزارة الثقافة المصرية. وهو حاصل على عدة جوائز عربية رفيعة كجائزة الصحافة العربية، فرع الصحافة الثقافية للعام ٢٠١٩.

Sayed Mahmoud is an esteemed Egyptian journalist specializing in covering cultural affairs. He is currently the Managing Editor of Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine in Cairo. He has held several senior journalistic positions, most recently serving as Editor-in-Chief of Al-Qahira newspaper, published by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. He has received several prestigious Arab awards, including the Arab Journalism Award in the Cultural Journalism category for the year 2019.
