On the occasion of Labor Day, Alternative Policy Solutions at The American University in Cairo is hosting a public talk titled The New Labor Law: Safeguarding Workers’ Rights or Empowering Employers?
The talk will provide an analytical review of the new labor law. Our speakers are Engineer Ehab Mansour, Member of the House of Representatives, and Amal Abdel Hamid, Director of the Women's Program at the Center for Trade Union and Workers' Services. The session will be moderated by Mohamed Basal, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Shorouk.

Ehab Mansour
Engineer Ehab Mansour is a member of the House of Representatives and serves as the head of the parliamentary bloc for the Egyptian Social Democratic Party. He currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives' Manpower Committee. Previously, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Housing Committee and was also the head of the Giza Engineers Syndicate.

Amal Abdel Hamid
Dr. Amal Abdel Hamid is the Director of the Women's Program at the Center for Trade Union and Workers' Services. She holds a PhD in civil law and is a training consultant specializing in labor issues and social and economic legislation. I serve as the Director of the Women's Program at the Center for Trade Union and Workers' Services.

Mohamed Basal
is Journalist and Legal Researcher. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Shorouk Newspaper and Director of the Legal Publications website
