Thirteen years after the Syrian Revolution took place in 2011, the collapse of the Assad government amidst the tenuous state of the region brought the struggle over Syria back to the forefront of the world’s attention. In this discussion, Syrian writer, thinker, activist and former political prisoner Yassin alHaj Saleh will explore the reasons behind the sudden collapse of the Assad government and the possible paths awaiting Syria as a result of these developments.

Will this moment create a window of possibility for change or will it plunge the country, and the region as a whole, toward more obscure scenarios? How can we begin to analyze the role of regional players and their influence on Syria’s future?

Alternative Policy Solutions is hosting a webinar entitled “Syria and the Region: Prospective Visions” with Syrian writer, thinker, activist and former political prisoner Yassin alHaj Saleh. Saleh will be joined in conversation with Ahmed Khalaf, Alternative Policy Solutions, on Monday 18th of December, 2024 (Live on Facebook)

The webinar will be conducted in Arabic.
