The lecture will consider the Arab-Zionist conflict by analysing a set of public signs from the linguistic landscape of the Old City of Jerusalem in the last hundred years. Adopting a qualitative approach, the lecture will analyse aspects of the deployment of language as a proxy in expressing intractable conflicts.
