AI and Ethics in Research: Perspectives from the Think Tank Sector

This talk will explore the novel and complex ethical questions, limitations and challenges that AI raises in the research environment. Building on perspectives from the think tank sector in the UK, the talk will touch on both the importance of ethics and how the think tank sector navigates and safeguards complex ethical questions. It will further explore the potential uses of AI in research both in theory and in practice, how research institutes are struggling today to keep up with the current speed of development in AI technology in terms of regulating usage, and explore ways AI technology might best be employed responsibly and ethically.
