Ensemble Aventure Performs Leqaát, Encounters

Ensemble Aventure is a Freiburg-based contemporary music ensemble of Egyptian and German composers renowned for its concert series, international collaborations as well as numerous premieres. 

This concert program focuses on the encounters between oriental cultural traditions and contemporary music of Western influence. This is particularly evident in the new works by composers Amr Okba, Hossam Mahmoud and Nehad El-Sayed, where the integration of the Egyptian bowl-necked lute, the Oud, into a Western-style ensemble creates a hybrid, intercultural sound. 

Leqaát, Encounters aims to foster artistic exchange between the Arab and European worlds.
