Join us for the virtual book discussion of The Jinn Daughter (Hoopoe, 2024), the stunning debut novel of Rania Hanna, a Syrian-American writer and neuroscience doctoral student at George Mason University.
The virtual discussion will feature the author in an engaging conversation with Melanie Magidow, translator and founder of Marhaba Language Expertise.

They will explore Rania’s debut novel, delving into its blend of Middle Eastern folklore and fantasy, uncovering the secrets of her fantasy world, and introducing the intriguing characters within the novel.

The Jinn Daughter is an impressive feat of storytelling that pulls together mythology, magic, and ancient legend in the gripping story of a mother’s struggle to save her only daughter. Rania deftly weaves subtle, yet breathtaking, magic through this vivid and compelling story that has at its heart the universal human desire to, somehow, outmaneuver death. From Jinns who narrate tales and death personified, the novel promises an enjoyable read.

Register to attend via Zoom meeting.
The book discussion will be livestreamed on Hoopoe's Facebook Page
