The Gerhart Center has invited Sonja Haut, Head of Impact Valuation at Novartis, to provide a public lecture on her book titled "The Case for Impact," which is a practical guide providing compelling business reasons for engaging actively in impact valuation.

Sonja Haut has worked on impact valuation since 2015. She leads the Novartis Value Balancing Alliance (VBA) engagement and is a member of the Capitals Coalition Advisory Panel plus the ISSB Technical Reference Group. Prior to Novartis, she held IT and finance leadership roles. Haut holds degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Freiburg, Germany and is the author of various opinion pieces on the role of impact valuation for the business, society and the economy.

In the lecture, she will cover:
  • What is impact valuation?
  • How can impact valuation assess the business value beyond financials?
  • Why does it make good business sense to engage in impact valuation now?
  • What is the role of impact valuation in sustainability reporting?
  • What is the future economy of impact?

The lecture is the first Impact for Breakfast event that takes place in Egypt, which are a specialized group that focuses on social enterprise, entrepreneurship and impact investing worldwide.
