Mohsen Sarhan
CEO
The Egyptian Food Bank
Mohsen Sarhan, a nonprofit executive, with a research interest at the nexus of social mobility, innovation, and inclusive growth. Mohsen lives and leads with simplicity, authenticity, and accountability. He is the CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank, the largest nonprofit in Egypt, and the inspiration behind more than 88 food banks globally. He fights with 400 professionals everyday for a world without hunger. Sarhan is also the co-founder of “OLFA,” the region’s first evidence-based mental health charity, and “Athar” the leading social impact assessment firm. He also serves on the boards of The Social Takaful Foundation (previously the Winter Fund), and the “Awladna” charity trust fund. Until 2020, he served on the directorship committee of the Global Association of Fundraising Professionals as president of the MENA Chapter. Sarhan holds a BSc in Economics from Cairo University, a GD in International Markets from the Arab Academy, and two Master degrees from The American University in Cairo and Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the US, both in Public Administration.

Howaida Adly
Professor of Political Science
The National Center for Social and Criminological Research
Howaida Adly, a Professor of Political Science at the National Center for Social and Criminological Research. She previously worked as a professor of political science at the Misr University of Science and Technology and taught a course on civil society theories at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science - Cairo University.She worked as a consultant for the European Union’s migration project in the period from, as well as As a consultant at the Social Contract Center, where she supervised the civil society unit. Howaida Adly’s research focuses on issues of development and poverty reduction, and how to activate this through building partnerships of an institutional nature. She also participated in updating the Egyptian Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.She was also a member of the committee drafting the sustainable development agenda. She also participated in preparing the Egyptian Human Development Report 2021 in the section on social protection.
