Bank of Anxiety is a comedy originally written by Tawfiq al-Hakim. It follows two friends, Adham and Shaaban, as they work to establish their private bank that deals with the currency of anxiety rather than money. The play follows them from when they first start the bank to when they find a wealthy investor to fund the project and help them run it. In this adaptation of the play, we see them interact with many customers, all facing certain types of modern-day Egyptian problems, while in the background, something more menacing threatens the customers, the bank and more importantly... Adham and Shaaban themselves.
The play will be performed in its entirety in Arabic.
