The Center for Applied Research on the Environment and Sustainability (CARES) provides an opportunity for agricultural hobbyists to maintain garden plots to grow their own vegetables right here on AUC's New Cairo campus!

AUC students, faculty and staff are eligible to register. Each plot has a 500 LE fee, including a 100 LE deposit that will be returned at the end of the growing season. Each plot is 40m2 in size and assigned in groups of 2-4 participants. We encourage participants to involve their children if interested!
Registration for spring planting season: September 10 – September 20, 2023.

Adopt-a-Plot orientation session:
Location: CARES meeting room.
CARES is located between gates 3 and 4, next to the School of Continuing Education and adjacent to the greenhouses.
  
Planting Season:
Sunday - Thursday 24 -  September 28, 2023.
CARES personnel and technicians will be on site from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to help and support you for the plantation.  

Final harvest:
February 15, 2023.
Participants must clear plots before this date to receive their 100 LE deposit back.
