Join this dynamic session with Azzza Soliman, co-founder of the Center For Egyptian Women's Legal Assistance (CEWLA), as she decrypts the draft Egyptian Status Law and the controversy around it! 
This workshop is organized by Tomorrow's Leaders Gender Scholars (TLS) program to mainstream gender and builds a culture of inclusiveness at AUC and beyond!

Guest Speaker:
Azza Soliman is an Egyptian lawyer, woman human rights defender and feminist. She co-founded the Center for Egyptian Women's Legal Assistance (CEWLA) and has worked on women's rights issues for over 25 years. Soliman is part of Amnesty International's Brave Campaign, which calls for the recognition and protection of human rights defenders worldwide. She also worked as a consultant to Arab governments and feminist non-governmental organizations in Iraq, UAE, Jordan and Bahrain, where she assisted in drafting reports submitted to the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
