Lyrical verses that tell epic tales performed by masters of the craft.
Free and open to the public
In Commemoration of the World Heritage day Al-Warsha Theatrical Ensemble led by director Hassan Al-Geretly will be presenting the revival of the heritage of the Hilaly biography on stage, which is one of the most famous Arab folk biographies. The show combines storytelling and theatrical singing.
This oral masterpiece, numbering five million verses, recounts the "Epic of the Bani Hilal," described as the "Iliad of the Arabs.“
It is a long epic that describes the story of the migration of Bani Hilal and the conquest of North Africa by the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula and their exodus from their homes while fleeing from the drought that struck their region.
