UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Cup 2023

UIPM (Union International de Pentathlon Moderne) is the International Federation for Modern Pentathlon. AUC’s Second time to host the UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Cup.

This competition is the first stop for all athletes worldwide to qualify for the PARIS 2024 Summer Olympics. Modern Pentathlon has been an Olympic sport since the 1912 Stockholm games.

The Pentathlon consists of five different sports: 
1-    Equestrian – Showjumping 
2-    Fencing – Epee
3-    Swimming – 200 m freestyle 
4-    Running – cross country 5x600 m 
5-    Laser Shooting – within the running course 

Haidy Adel Morsy, an AUC senior, media principal, and head of AUC’s Athletes’ Committee, is the team captain of the women’s national team competing in the World Cup.

Around 40 countries representing the five continents compete in the World Cup. Russia and Belorussia have been sanctioned from competing by the International Federation because of the war in Ukraine.

Games will take place as follows: 

• Fencing – ARTOC
• Swimming - Hannon Swimming Pool
• Equestrian, laser Shooting, and running - Ward Sports Field 

The final of the individual and award ceremonies for Men and Women on March 11, 2023, and the mixed relay final and award on March 12, 2023.
