The Office of Sustainability is building upon its accumulative efforts over the past years by holding a series of talks by experts in the field of Sustainability and Sustainable Development in various areas of specifications. The planned experts' talks aim to engage the AUC community members with Climate Change topics for better understanding and actions.
The Office of Sustainability is glad to announce the first talk in the series titled: Sustainability and Climate Change: A Mega-Trend, featuring Ehab Shalaby, chairman and CEO of Dcarbon Egypt, where he will discuss and shed light on the following headlines: Constructing a narrative, Global and National Policy and Strategy Architecture, The Role of the Financial Sector, Opportunities, Challenges, and Innovative Solutions.

Ehab Shalaby is the Chairman & CEO of DCarbon Egypt and a board member of the Vodafone Foundation. He is a Senior Consultant, Researcher & Lecturer in the field of Economics and Sustainable Development, with more than 20 years of experience in consulting, lecturing, research, and public and private policy advising on Sustainable Development and Climate Finance at the local, regional, and international levels. His consultations experience covers public and corporate consultations, public consultation including the preparation of Egypt's INDCs report submitted to the UNDCCC secretariat in Oct. 2015, Egypt Sustainable Development Strategy 2030 "Energy Pillar," Egypt's Voluntary National Review (VNR) on SDGs submitted to the HLPF in July 2016, developing Egypt's National Strategic Review on SDG1 and SDG2 for the World Food Program, developing Egypt's Biennial Updated Report on SDG13 to the UNFCCC, becoming a member of the audit committee of Egypt's VNR 2018, a member of the team of experts working on revisiting Egypt's vision 2030. His corporate consultations include the financial sector, health, telecom, ICT, F&B, Oil and Gas, construction, real estate, petrochemicals, and fertilizers.
Currently, Shalaby is working on several projects and consultations, including participating in developing Egypt's first "Carbon Market" study and Egypt's Low Emission Carbon Strategy. Shalaby received his MSc and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, in cooperation with the Free University of Berlin, Germany. He has been a visiting lecturer among many universities, currently at the Maastricht School of Management (MBA) Program.
