In November 2022, Egypt will host the 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh, the leading global forum on climate change. As COP27 President, great attention is paid to Egypt's role in advancing climate action and negotiating more equitable and responsible climate action.

Alternative Policy Solutions, a public policy research project at the American University in Cairo, invites you to this talk with Special Representative of COP27 President-Designate Wael Aboulmagd, who will discuss the significance of COP27 for Egypt's inclusive economic development path as well as Egypt's agenda and goals for the global meet. Egypt's special representative will also shed light on how the global community can translate climate gains made through the conference into opportunities for the more vulnerable and marginalized in society.

Doors close at 6:30 pm sharp.
