Future of Energy: Dispelling the Myths

The future of humans on earth directly hinges on how we generate and use energy. Today, we depend globally on oil (31.2%), coal (27.2%), and gas (24.7%) for energy. Fossil fuels are often reported as a primary source of emissions and pollution. This panel will discuss different energy sources, including green and renewable energy sources and fossil fuels. Our panelists will discuss the future of energy for a sustainable environment, presenting facts and informed perspectives on the topic. 

The panel aims to answer questions like; how green is “green” energy? What is the future of energy, or energy for the future? What is zero-carbon? How can different energy sources, including fossil and non-renewable fuels, contribute to a low- or even zero-carbon future? What consequences do energy sources have on our natural and urban environments? And how can we, as individuals and institutions, contribute to a more sustainable environment?
