LIQUID GAZE - Senior Projects Exhibition 2022
“Liquid Gaze” is the title of the 2022 final projects exhibition produced by the students of the Visual Arts program at the American University in Cairo. The exhibition will be held at the Margo Veillon, Legacy and Future gallery halls in AUC’s Tahrir Cultural Center- Cairo from the 12th to the 30th of May 2022.
The show presents several multimedia art projects by eleven students. Most projects follow a contemporary artistic experimental methodology with a philosophical reference. The projects started in the fall of 2021, where students developed their unique ideas and conducted visual/knowledge-based research. The latter covered all the theoretical details of the concept and many other critical and analytical practices that helped develop particular creative areas and translate them into theoretical writing for the first part of the project. The second part dedicated to the project's production process is completed during the second semester in the spring of 2022, followed by the group show that is evaluated by an independent panel after the official opening. In addition, there is also a printed book that documents all the creative and production practices throughout the year. The graduation projects are an integral part of the knowledge and educational experience within the current curriculum of the visual arts program, which started in 2013 at AUC.
