The wonderful musicians of Makan, including Um Sameh, are custodians of legacy sounds and instruments from Egypt, including the well-known Zar experience that they have been recreating for local and global audiences for years. On this night, they will fill the garden with spiritual chants and much more, an atmosphere not to be missed and perfect for a moonlit Ramadan night in the garden. A screening of the short film Mazaher Tales about the troupe’s history will also be taking place in parallel in Ewart Memorial Hall.
