The Theatre Program is proud to announce its second annual theatre conference: Independent and Marginalized Voices in Egyptian Theatre. The conference will begin on Friday, March 25th, 2022 and will continue until Monday, March 28th at the Falaki Theatre, AUC Tahrir. With a keynote speech by acclaimed theatremaker Hassan El-Geretly, the event will feature panels and discussions highlighting the struggles of independent and marginalized artists in the Egyptian theatre scene, and finding ways to support them. The conference will also provide workshops on Storytelling and Playback Theatre and will be dedicated to the memory of esteemed theatre artist and AUC Professor Mahmoud El-Lozy.
