Best-selling author Reem Bassiouney (Chair of AUC’s Department of Applied Linguistics) takes us on a journey through the process by which Cairo and its rich history serve as the inspiration for her novels, which are primarily based in the Mamluk era. The talk will include readings from her books Fountain of the Drowning, Sons of the People – The Mamluk Trilogy, and Ibn Tulun’s City Without Walls. The event will also feature a book signing.
