Taking place at the American University in Cairo on March 26 2022, New Cairo campus, the 2022 Tomorrow’s Leaders Annual Symposium will serve as a regional platform connecting community-led initiatives across the region actively working on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with scholars, decision-makers and relevant stakeholders in one setting to foster knowledge sharing, and design solutions to existing challenges. 

In This second edition, the symposium will present research findings and highlight efforts made by community-led initiatives in relation to two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SDG4 for “Quality Education” and SDG5 for “Gender Equality”.

The symposium is divided into:

  • Research papers presentation about aforementioned SDGs followed by a corresponding discussion.

  • Panel Discussion about the SDGs highlighted in the theme and the community-led initiatives working on them.

  • Open Discussion about the challenges facing  the Community-Led initiatives. 

  • An open Art Gallery throughout the day of the event.

About Tomorrow’s Leaders Program

The TL program is a Joint effort between the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, and AUC that has been in place since 2008 to support capable and highly motivated young scholars from underserved backgrounds in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The program provides a fully-funded undergraduate and graduate level academic matriculation, civic education, and leadership development opportunities.
