AUC Jazz Ensemble: Explorations of Latin Jazz

"Many think of Jazz as an exclusively American genre of music, but with the rise of its popularity in the mid 20th century, Jazz has become a worldwide phenomenon. Brazilian and Cuban musicians birthed the genre known as Latin Jazz, an eclectic mix of jazz harmony and Latin rhythms that captivated the world. In this concert, the AUC Jazz Ensemble will be curating a set of Latin Jazz pieces that honors the spirits of greats such as João Gilberto and Antônio Jobim." - Ahmed Refai, director.
