What does it take for men to build a new narrative in the workplace?
Since gender equality is a conversation with men, the webinar explores this question within the context of gender equity to create a more inclusive workplace for all. 

AUC Women on Boards Observatory and Hult International Business School (Ashridge), in collaboration with 30% Club MENA, are hosting this webinar featuring Debbie Bayntun-Lees, professor of organizational development & leadership and research fellow at Hult International Business School (Ashridge), Ghada Howaidy, associate dean for Executive Education, Laudy Lahdo, CEO of Companies Creating Change (C3) and member of the 30% Club MENA Core Steering Committee, Patrick Coffey, deputy head of research, Global Investment Bank, Hisham Farouk, CEO of Grant Thornton UAE and member of the 30% Club MENA Steering Committee, and Nick Wayth, CEO of The Energy Institute.

Laudy’s corporate career spans over 2 decades of international business experience, working in 8 countries in senior corporate leadership roles focused on business growth strategy. Prior to joining C3, Laudy served as the General Manager for Servcorp, a leading global provider of serviced and virtual office solutions, for the Middle East and Turkey. Based out of the company’s regional headquarters in Dubai for 18 years, Laudy led the successful expansion of the business in the MENA region. She is passionate about sustainability, mentoring, D&I, and transforming culture in organisations. She holds a B.Com from the University of Melbourne and is a Certified Corporate Board Director. Laudy speaks Arabic and is a proud mother to 2 adult children.

Howaidy is the founder of Egypt Women on Boards Observatory. She has extensive experience in organizational change and strategic management in local, regional and international organizations in the areas of higher education, human rights, management development, information technology and export promotion.  She has MA and MSc degrees in Middle East Studies and public management from AUC and the London School of Economics, as well as senior executive training at Harvard Business School.  She holds a professional doctorate in Organizational Change from Ashridge School of Business. She is both a Certified Corporate Board Director and a certified corporate governance trainer for SMEs and Women in Business by IFC.

Debbie is an experienced leadership, and organisational development consultant, and researcher. She has a special interest in the strategic and systemic development of gender balance, strengthening women’s leadership, and leveraging the benefits of diversity in organisations through inclusion. Debbie’s doctoral thesis explores the phenomena of women being “socially silenced” in everyday conversational life. She is passionate about working with forward thinking organisations to achieve cultures of equity and belonging, where inclusive conversations and ways of working are the norm.

Nick has 22 years of experience in executive and management roles. Most recently Nick was the Chief Development Officer of Alternative Energy at BP. Prior to this Nick held senior roles as VP Competitor Intelligence and as Head of North America Investor Relations. Nick holds a PhD in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering and a degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Southampton.  Nick is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of both the Energy Institute and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Nick is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment for working parents and carers. He was the executive sponsor for an active resource group at BP’s St James’s Square office and is a board member for POWERful Women.

He is recognised as one of the top 3 leaders in the accounting profession within the MENA region, making him a key member across Grant Thornton’s presence in the Middle East. Hisham believes in and is an advocate of the importance of gender diversity as well as developing and empowering female leaders, particularly in the Middle East. Hesham has an MBA in Finance from the American University in Cairo, as well as senior executive trainings from INSEAD, University of Oxford: Said Business School Leadership Program and Harvard Business School.

In his role he is responsible for managing 18 sector teams as well as joint responsibility for department culture, research product, platform, and clients. Prior to moving into research management, Patrick worked as an Equity research analyst for 10 years focusing on the Leisure sector. In his early career Patrick was a business analyst for Manchester United FC and as a Strategy Consultant. He has an Masters in History of Art from Oxford Univerity and a First Class Hons in History of Art and English Literature and Language from Nottingham University. Patrick is dedicated to creating a diverse workforce and a culture of kindness and inclusion. He is the wellbeing representative for the global research department.
