Join this Gerhart Center Webinar Series session featuring Lev Plaves, director of investments at Kiva, the world's largest crowdfunding platform for social good.

Plaves will speak about Kiva's work in the Middle East, specifically on how the unique nature of their crowdfunding platform has helped catalyze innovation in partnership with microfinance institutions in the region. He will cover Kiva's efforts reaching refugee populations and highlight how Kiva is now working to scale its efforts through the launch of Kiva Capital.

Lev Plaves is director of investments at Kiva, the world’s largest crowdfunding platform for social good. Kiva works through a network of local financial institutions in over 80 countries to expand financial access to underserved communities. Plaves leads Kiva’s impact investing strategy in the Middle East, with a strong focus on unlocking capital for and bringing financial services to displaced populations globally. Since their founding in 2005, Kiva has facilitated over $100m in loans across the Middle East and North Africa, and Plaves is currently working to deploy the newly launched Kiva Refugee Investment Fund. Previously based in Istanbul,  Plaves currently resides in San Francisco.
