Hadeel ElAhraf

Hadeel El-Ahraf is a member of the Psychology Department's Adjunct Faculty. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She has an M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and an M.A. in Special and Inclusive Education from University College London. She is interested in the intersection of Industrial and Organizational Psychology with Inclusive Education, to better prepare all students to pursue careers of interest to them. She strives to provide a positive student-centered classroom environment, where students are challenged to apply what they learn in the classroom to the world around them.
Heba Kotb
Associate Professor of Practice in Psychology
American University in Cairo
After earning her BA in Psychology from The American University in Cairo, Heba Kotb started working as a teacher of children with disabilities. After earning her Ph.D. degree in Education, she started working as an adjunct professor of Psychology at The American University in Cairo. During the following 17 years, she continued to teach at the AUC different courses leading to a BA in Psychology. During those years, she was appointed several times on a full-time basis to meet the department's needs; Kotb was also selected as a Unit Head of Psychology in 2004/2005. During her teaching years at AUC, she served in different committees like the Self-study, student disciplinary committee, and faculty affairs committee in the Psychology department.
In 2007 she worked with the Graduate School of Education to develop the Professional Educator Diploma and the parenting program.
In 2012 she became involved with Wataneya NGO for the care of orphaned children and developed the first Arabic version of the BTEC Pearson Edexcel Certificate for child care. Since then, more than 100 caregivers graduated from that program, and she continues to serve as the Lead Trainer and the Internal Verifier at Amaan Training Center, Wataneya NGO.
In 2015, she co-founded "EduTrain," a private training center for support and training of teachers and parents.
Hala Nadia A. Hak
Adjunct Faculty
Department of Psychology, The American University in Cairo
Hala is a passionate advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities. She co-founded The Egyptian Foundation for Organizations and Experts Supporting Inclusive Education (non-profit), aiming to advocate for, research, network, and raise awareness about Inclusive Education. She also co-founded Wataneya Society (a non-profit organization) that supports residential homes, including orphanages in Egypt, through capacity building and monitoring and Evaluation. Moreover, she has been a Consultant to the Ministry of Education and various NGOs, national and international, including AHED, CEOSS, CBM, and Save the Children UK.
