He was Vice Dean and Head of the Journalism Department from 2006-2014 and became a member of the Egyptian National Press in 2016. In his books and research, special interests focus on journalism techniques & ethics, new media uses & impact on traditional media, and media management & regulation

Ahdeya Al Sayed

President of Bahrain Journalists Association

The first female President of the Bahrain Journalists Association.



Ahdeya is also member of  the board of the Dubai-based Arab Women Federation.

She won the Woman of the Year Award in Journalism awarded by the London Arabia Organisation



She won a seat for the first time for Bahrain at the International Federation of Journalists Gender Council thats aims at protecting and defending female journalists rights all around the world.







She joined the press industry at the age of 18 working as a junior reporter with the Gulf Daily News in 1991.

During the past 28 years she continued working in the print media until she became Deputy Editor in Chief of the Daily Tribune and Editor in Chief of AlSalam.

During this period Ahdeya also hosted weekly radio ans and television programmes shedding light on current political issue,social changes in the Arab societies and womens rights.

Since her presidency of the Bahrain Journalists Association she has actively been calling for the progress of women in the field of press and media through involving them in higher administrative positions.



The new board has also been seeking to

to improve the conditions of journalists in Bahrain.



When she started her career in the English language press in 1991, she was considered as one of the early female journalists in the field.



In 1997, she joined Bahrain Tribune, the only other daily newspaper published in English in the kingdom. She oversaw the local news desk and contributed columns, mainly on the local developments at a time when Bahrain witnessed deep political and social changes. The newspaper was later renamed Daily Tribune.



Ahdeya also worked for Bahrain Television in English as a news reader and later as the head of the station.



She gained international media experience as she worked as correspondent and point of contact in Bahrain.

Yasser Abdel Aziz

Media Consultant and Trainer, Member of the National Council of Human Rights, Egypt.

Yasser Abd El Azizis a writer, consultant and media expert who has provided consultations and training for a number of organizations, governments and international initiatives. He trained hundreds of Arab journalists in 16 Arab and foreign countries. Abd El Aziz, Bachelor of Mass Communication and Master in Journalism, worked as a trainer and consultant for BBC World Service Trust at Middle East and North Africa, UNDP, British Council, UNESCO, Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), Doha Centre for Media Freedom (DCMF), Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU), Oman’s Ministry of Information among other distinguished institutions. He also lent his expertise to prominent newspapers such as Al Hayat, Al Madina, Al Watan, Al Masry Al Youm.
